This Flamingo Flower's waxy green leaves mirror the candyfloss-pink bracts around the flowers with their slimmer than usual pointed ovate shapes. The gorgeous colouring of this plant makes it great as a gift - especially since the flowers bloom almost year-round! In their natural habitats, these plants are epiphytic (they grow on trees) so they need to be well-drained rather than waterlogged at the root and benefit from above-average humidity. Don't worry if the roots seem to be climbing out of the pot - this is normal, it's just the plant looking for a tree, but it will be fine staying in its pot. Growing up to a foot (30cm) tall, Flamingo flowers are great compact flowering plants, and this variety's vibrant colours and narrower leaves and bracts help it stand out from the rest.

Scientific Name
Anthurium andraeanum 'Lilli Pink' (Andre's flower-tail, cultivar: Lilli Pink)

Common Name
Flamingo Flower, Tailflower, Laceleaf, Painter's Palette

Origin
Native to tropical areas in Colombia and Ecuador

Light
Likes a bright location with an hour of morning or evening sun; a north, noth-west or north-east facing windowsill will be ideal.

Water

Allow a third of the soil to dry out between waterings in spring and summer, and a little more in autumn and winter. Since flamingo flowers are epiphytic, they are not tolerant to waterlogging!

Humidity
Loves high humidity; will benefit from regular misting, especially where it gets a lot of light.

Soil
Plant in well-draining soil; a mix with added bark for drainage would complement its epiphytic nature. Look out for mixes designed for Anthuriums or Orchids. Repot every three years only if absolutely necessary.

Food
Feed every couple of weeks in spring and summer, reduce to every month in autumn and winter. Roots are sensitive so take care with fertilisers which pour directly into the soil.

Temperature
Likes warmer temperatures, aim for 18-28°C and make sure it doesn't drop below 12°C in winter.

Pet-safe
No, this plant is toxic to pets and small humans.

Sprouts Top Tips
When re-potting, divide crowded clumps for best results. A winter dormancy period where the plant is kept cooler will improve the bloom and growth in summer.

Faulty Trigger
This was the 3rd of 4 B & D Weed Trimmer's I have purchased in the past 4 months. My first B & D Weed Trimmer was purchased 3 years ago. The Trigger finally gave out. Every B & D Weed Trimmer has had a faulty trigger. They give out just past the 30 day return window - trying to get B & D to cover it on their warranty website is ridiculous! No one at Amazon knows anything either. So you either buy another or go to Ryobi...because you cant find any decent replacement blades for it either.

Quick, powerful, and easy to use
Style: 2 x 2.0Ah
When my wife and I bought our latest home, I got bitten by the battery-powered lawn equipment bug. Because our lawn is a lot smaller and flatter than our last home, I refrained from having landscapers regularly maintain this new lawn. This means I now have every piece of equipment one could possibly want to keep our yard looking beautiful Before purchasing this last item for our lawn, I was using a weed whacker to do the edging. This was tedious and not very precise. Because I have all Greenworks-branded equipment, this edger was a no-brainer. Even though most of our battery-operated lawn equipment uses 60v batteries, I opted for this smaller dual-battery setup to save a little weight and money. Because of the small battery sizes, the edger is perfectly balanced and not one bit unwieldy. I am able to quickly clear all of our sidewalk, lanai, and driveway surface edges within minutes. Up to this point, I had never used an edger before. It literally took less than 30 seconds to get it buzzing correctly along the surface edges of our property. If not trying to do a large commercial area, this edger will probably work for most residential applications. Quickly and easily.

It's a beast and you can add attachments to, like a brush cutter head.
Style: 16" (2 x 4Ah)
This thing is a beast of a battery powered machine. I wouldn't put it completely up against my gas. It is much better than the Greenworks 24V 13-Inch Brushless String Trimmer (Gen 2), 4.0Ah USB Battery and Charger Included that I had purchased this time last year. I have several gas so I only really needed a light duty one to do the fence line and around the house. The main issue with the 13 inch was that the auto feed bump mechanism was worthless. It also uses very thin lines so very quickly you go from 13 inches to 6 to 8. and the bump feed does not work even with greenworks replacement spools. You get twice the batteries and a dual rapid charger for $50 more. You couldn't even buy the battery for that much. onto this thing. Love the dual string heavy-duty string mechanism. Love the fact that you can remove the trimmer head and add an attachment. I have attachments from my gas Trimmers and they work perfectly. My brush head attachment utterly devastated thick bramble from an overgrown lot. The best part is it took me two hours to get my stored gas trimmers to run properly which I don't have to do with a battery operated device. No gas flying that deteriorated or primer bubbles that have burst followed spark plugs Stale gas . Just throw the batteries on and you're off. Nothing long-term to report, only had it a week. Used it enough to run down completely six sets of batteries.
